Sometimes things are just meant to be. When James proposed to Erin outside the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, it was pouring rain. Still, he secretly planted a friend to play the part of a casual bystander who was going to secretly record the proposal and still, James got down on one knee and proposed. That’s why, even though the wedding day rolled around and it was drizzling and cloudy, no one was affected by the weather. We immediately knew that the rain was not a hindrance to their story, but a part of it.
The couple got married at Clovis Castle, which is a beautiful estate in the Clovis foothills that transports you to the Irish countryside. We felt that the beauty of the venue was only enhanced by the rain, as it brought to life the greenery and allowed for clear views of the far off hills.
James and Erin are both nurses and they met doing what they love. The care and passion they have for the profession shone through as we spent time with them, capturing them getting ready and enjoying their special day. It was fun spending time with James and his “best men” and it was obvious that the friendships Erin has with her bridesmaids are lifelong.
Our favorite moment of the wedding came when James finally got to see Erin walk down the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, especially from James. It was sweet to see James get so emotional seeing his bride for the first time, causing Erin to not be able to hold back tears either.
After the ceremony we were able to capture some gorgeous shots of the couple in different parts of the venue. Even though we were a couple of minutes outside of Fresno, we kept having to remind ourselves we weren’t in a different country.
During the reception we got to witness more of the love James and Erin share through stories their friends recounted during the hilarious toasts, and through their first dance and all the celebrations that followed. Our team also created a custom design for James and Erin’s USB case. It’s elegant and lighthearted just like them!
We had a great time capturing their special day and we wish James and Erin the best of life and love on the journey of their marriage!
