Some people dream of finding their prince charming, but not Monica. Monica was perfectly happy to find herself a superhero instead. Daniel loves Superman, (he even promised to be Monica’s “man of steel” during their vows), and we could tell he wasn’t kidding. The love between the two of them is evident, whether they’re jokingly comparing themselves to superheroes or not.
Daniel and Monica have been together for more than eight years, and they truly are each other’s best friend. As we spent the day with the couple, we saw how calm and ready they were to take on the rest of their lives together.
The couple opted for a gorgeous lakeside ceremony and reception at the beautiful Wolf Lakes Park in Sanger, California. While the decorations, flowers and ceremony had a classic feel, the couple stayed true to their roots and mixed in a little bit of their heritage to really personalize their special day.
The ceremony was both in English and Spanish and the cocktail hour provided guests a beautiful mariachi performance. Some of the toasts were even in Spanish! We love when couples embrace who they are and incorporate those details into the environment of their wedding day.
The couple didn’t forget to also throw their personalities into the mix by exchanging fun and heartfelt gifts before the ceremony and the guys even arrived to the ceremony on a boat and entered to the Man of Steel film score.
The night ended with more boat rides for the guests, a dance floor full of hits both in English and Spanish, and a beautiful wedding cake complete with a customized Superman cake topper.
It’s couples like Daniel and Monica that make shooting weddings so beautiful. We get to capture the day so the memories last for years to come, but we also get to tell the story of two people becoming one in a way that’s special and unique only to them.
We designed their USB case with simplicity in mind. Wolf Lakes naturally has a lot of foliage so it was easy to draw inspiration for the floral accents. We chose a bright color palette with a white background to accentuate the contrast. The type is meant to be fun and playful, representing just the kind of couple that Daniel and Monica are.
